Steering Clutch Linkage Adjustment: When the new parts are installed in the steering clutch linkage, assemble each new rod into the turnbuckle so the S175 Pin slides freely into the hole through the lever and rod yoke while the pedals are back against their stops. Then adjust the linkage as follows (see the illustration): 1. Install a 4150 kPa (600 psi) pressure gauge in the cover of the steering clutch oil filter.2. Run the engine at high idle rpm and depress (push down) one clutch pedal a distance of 25.4 mm (1.0"), then turn the 4V2429 Turnbuckle in a direction to increase the length of the assembled rods until the gauge shows a pressure increase.3. Turn the turnbuckle in the opposite direction to make the rods shorter and lower the pressure until the gauge shows a pressure in the range of 310-895 kPa (45-140 psi), then turn the turnbuckle one-sixth turn (60°) more (shorter). Tighten the locknuts.4. Do Steps 2 and 3 again to adjust the linkage for the other steering clutch.
