Lifting Point - In order to lift the towed scraper, attach the lifting devices to the lifting points.
Tie Down Point - In order to tie down the towed scraper, attach the tie-downs to the tie down points. Lifting the Machine
Use properly rated cables and properly rated slings to lift the towed scraper.Position the crane or the lifting device in order to lift the towed scraper in a level position.The width of the spreader bar must be sufficient to prevent the lifting cables or the lifting straps from contacting the towed scraper.
Attach two lifting cables to the front lifting eyes. There is one lifting eye on each side of the front of the bowl. The lifting areas are identified by a label that shows a hook.
Attach two lifting cables to the rear lifting eyes. There is one lifting eye on each side of the rear of the bowl. The lifting areasare identified by a label that shows a hook.
Connect the four lifting cables to the spreader bars. The spreader bars must be centered over the machine.
Lift the machine. Move the machine to the desired position.Tying down the Machine
Each machine is equipped with tie down brackets. Attach the tie-down chains or straps to these brackets.
Install the transport lock on towed scrapers that are equipped with the transport lock. Lower the rear of bowl to the transport bed.
Lower the front bowl and lower the hitch to the transport bed using the rotary needle valve. The rotary needle valve should be in the LOWER position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Attaching and Detaching Scraper" for additional information.
Install the tie down chains or straps.Install tie-downs at several locations. Place blocks around the wheels.Obey all of the laws that govern the actual load's weight, the actual load's width, and the actual load's length.See your Caterpillar dealer for additional shipping instructions for your machine.
