Using Remote Tools
Launch by selecting the "Remote Tools" icon, once the software has installed.

Connect to a display by selecting one of the following options:
"Connect", USB connection
"Connect To...", connect over a network connection, from a list of machines or by entering the IP of a specific machine.Note: To load a list of machines, select "File" "Connect To" "Load". Then browse to the latest "Machine.mwf" file.

Other functions of the remote tool menu include the following functions:
Disconnect from the display
Record video
Save an image
Display the image as the display appears in the cab
Zoom in
Zoom out
"Zoom Fit" to fit the image to the screen

Tool menu drop-down options
Tool menu options include the following functions:
Display Backlight On turns backlight on
Display Backlight Off turn backlight off
"Reboot" will restart the onboard applicationNote: Turning the "Backlight"OFF will make the onboard view appear black to the operator.Note: Setup Telnet and Setup FTP are for future use and do not currently affect the onboard display.Running a Tope Snapshot
Tope Snapshot is a standalone and integrated Tope tool used to collect all the required files needed from the panel to diagnose issues with TOPE. The "snapshot" function copies these files from their locations and stores them in a central file. This file will be easy for support personnel to access and make available to the development team in support of issue resolution.Note: The topeconfig must be current for the version of Tope installed (4.9) and include the key $ Snapshot Directory =\Storage\FTPShare\Storage\Snapshot in the Files and Directories settings.Note: This process should be performed by a technician experienced with the G407 and navigating the Developer menu via Remote Tools.Note: Caterpillar recommends being directly connected to the G407 using Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) when flashing OS software. Failure of the OS flash could render the G407 unusable.Perform the following procedure:
Open Remote Tools Client.
Click Connect to Button.
Enter the IP Address in Host Name section.

Enter Username and Password, and click OK to log in. Refer to Illustration 8.

Once connected, the G407 Tope screen will be displayed. Select the "Inputs" icon to allow the display to receive remote control inputs from the Remote Tools application. Refer to Illustration 9.

Controls
Once "Inputs" are enabled, the "Controls" pad to the right of the tool will be usable. From here press OK (1), up arrow (2), right arrow (3), left arrow (4), down arrow (5) to unlock the development menu. If in the cab, perform these steps by touching the locations on the screen or using your mouse to click the location in Remote Tools. This action can take about 5 seconds before this menu will appear. Refer to Illustration 10.

"Full Snapshot"
Navigate to the "Actions" menu, select "Snapshot" menu, and select "Full Snapshot". Refer to Illustration 11.
