Refer to the following rework procedure in order to install the oscillating axle plate:
Fully extend all stabilizer cylinders to lift the wheels of the machine off the ground.
Lock the oscillating axle by fully depressing the service brake pedal until the pedal locks. This will ensure that the oscillating axles cylinders and lines are not pressurized.
Switch off the engine. Secure the machine from unauthorized start.

(3) O-ring plug
Release the O-ring plug (3) on the head of one oscillating axle cylinder and place a suitable container below the axle cylinder to catch escaping hydraulic oil. Refer to Illustration 2.

Push the axle down (5) on the side opposite of the O-ring plug that was released. The axle will move down slowly and the open oscillating axle cylinder will retract. Oil will be displaced (4) through the O-ring plug. Continue pushing down until the axle reaches the mechanical stop. Refer to Illustration 3.
Close the O-ring plug.

Push down the oscillating axle on the elevated side. Push down until there is sufficient clearance to install the 394-9379 Plates (8) beneath the 388-7608 Plate As (6). If enough clearance cannot be created, repeat Step 5 to Step 7 on the opposite side of the axle.
Add the missing 394-9379 Plates (8). Replace the existing 8T-4779 Bolts with longer the 8T-4140 Bolts (7). Tighten the bolts to 390 10 N m (288 7 lb ft).
After installing the plates, purge the air from the oscillating axle cylinders. Refer to above reference in order to purge the air from the oscillating axle cylinders.
Tighten the O-ring plug (3) to 20 N m (15 lb ft).
