Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove engine oil filter base.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Remove bolts (4), clips (2), and clamp assembly (1).
Remove tube assembly (3).

Inspect gasket (5) which seals tube assembly (3).Note: If any damage is found on gasket (5), the gasket must be discarded and replaced with new.
Attach a suitable lifting device to the engine oil cooler assembly. The weight of the engine oil cooler assembly is approximately 85 kg (187.5 lb).

Remove bolts (6). Slide flange (7) toward the oil cooler.
Remove bolts (8).

Remove engine oil cooler (10).Installation Procedure
Install engine oil cooler (10) in the reverse order of removal.
