The CAESbasic system provides guidance to the center of the cutting edge of the blade.In order to measure the machine dimensions, refer to the Measurements section of Special Instruction, REHS1580Do the following before you set the machine dimensions.
Start the CD550 display in Configuration mode.
From the "Setup Menu - Installation" dialog, press the down arrow key until you highlight "Machine Dimensions".
Press the "OK" key. The "Machine Dimensions" dialog appears. Work through all of the soft keys and make sure that you enter all of the machine dimensions.From any of the "Machine Dimensions" dialogs, press the "ESC" key in order to cancel and return to the "Setup Menu" dialog.Table 1 shows the soft keys that are available in the dialogs and the item that each soft key selects.

When any or all of the dimensions have been set, press the "OK" key in order to save the settings and return to the "Setup Menu" dialog.
Press the "ESC" key in order to exit the "Setup Menu" dialog. All of the changes made will take effect immediately.Entering the Measurements
The left blade tip is defined as the blade tip on the left of the machine when looking forward from the cab. Illustration 1 shows the machine settings and is viewed from the front of the dozer looking back at the blade.The same dimensions are required for all machine types. However, this manual uses the dozer in order to illustrate the dimension requirements.

Perform the following steps in order to set the blade and GPS antenna values.

Select the soft key ("Antenna"). Illustration 2 shows the "Machine Dimensions" dialog for configuring the antenna.
Using the arrow keys, enter the height in the "Ground plane height" field.This is the vertical distance from the bottom of the GPS antenna ground plane to the cutting edge (2).
Press the "NEXT" key.
Enter the distance in the "Antenna back from cutting edge" field.This
