Rework Procedure
Replacement Procedure for installation of new 2124211/">212-4211 & 2124212/">212-4212 Sliding Window Assemblies
Step 1
From outside the cab and with the sliding window closed remove the 103-2006 screw on the bottom part of the sliding window frame assemblies.

Step 2
Make sure the sliding window lock is loose and then slide the window frame open while holdling 212-4218 nylon rib in place.

Step 3
With the sliding window frame open, pry the nylon rib up off of the main frame rail and pull the nyon rib out completely to remove the sliding window frame.

Step 4
With the 212-4218 nylon rib removed the sliding window will drop down out of the top of the main frame and can be removed from the Window Group.
Step 5 Install the new sliding window frame assembly.
First remove the 212-4218 nylon rib from the new 2124211/">212-4211 or 2124212/">212-4212 Sliding Window Frame Assembly. Remove screw from bottom of frame(Step 1) and pulling nylon rib out of window frame group.
Step 6
Install the new sliding window frame assembly into the main frame in the open position. Push up on the sliding window frame as you snap the nylon rib onto the main frame rail and slide it into place under the sliding window frame assembly.

Step 7
With the nylon rib installed in the sliding window frame assembly re-install the 103-2006 locking screw to secure the nylon rib in place
Repair procedure for installing 8Y-6459 Butyl Tape between the glass and sliding window frame
Step 1
From outside the cab, use a screwdriver to pull out the 212-4431 seal along all four sides of the sliding window glass. Once this seal is removed, the glass can then be removed. Take care not to damage the seal or glass as they will be reused.

Step 2
Remove the old 212-4432 seal with paint scrapper from the window frame surface and clean the surface for good adhesion of butyl tape.
Step 3
Remove the protective film from one side of the tape and install the 8Y-6459 butyl tape onto the window frame first and taking care not to leave any gaps at the ends.
Step 4
Remove the protective film from the other side of the butyl tape and position the window glass and press firmly in place.
Step 5
Reinstall the 212-4431 seals on each side of the glass to hold in place. To avoid stretching the seal you can install both ends into the window frame and then work towards the center.
