Dear Caterpillar Product Owner:
An inspection of your generator fan will need to be done to ensure that it will not exhibit issues linked to fan blades separating. Such an event can cause personal injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 05Jan2007 when scheduling this service.
We regret the inconvenience this may cause you, but urge you to have this service performed for your added safety and satisfaction.

Rework Procedure
1. Activate E-Stop.
2. Record the package and generator serial number.
3. Loosen bolts fastening air guard and remove guard or slide guard back onto barrel.

4. Insert an inspection mirror between the front of the fan hub and the rear of the flex plates.

5. Check the front of the hub for the ?CX? Cixi Huili foundry mark.

6. Reinstall air guard.
7. Reset E-Stop.
8. If the unit has a "CX" mark then it should not be run until the generator has been replaced. Please contact Hez Brown at (770)233-6382 or email: brownh1 the following information.
