LUG 6J9944 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the bolts (1) that hold the valve group (2) to the manifold group (3). 2. Slide the valve group (2) to disconnect the valve spool (4) from the lever assembly (5) and remove the valve group. 3. Remove cover (9), piston (8), springs (7) and O-ring seal (6). 4. Remove the plate (10), slug (15), spring assembly (11), body (12) and two O-ring seals (14) from the valve body (13). 5. Remove the spool (4), ball and spring (16), spool and shims (17) from the valve body. 6. Remove the ring (18) and spacer (19) from the spool. 7. Remove the plug (20) and seal from the manifold (21). 8. Remove retaining pin (22) and remove ball (23) from manifold. 9. Remove retaining pin (24). Remove valve assembly (25). 10. Remove pin (28) from pin (29) and remove spring (30), valve (27) and collar (26). 11. Remove plug and seal (33). Remove spring (32) and spool (31). 12. Remove the bolt and washer. Remove the lever assembly (5). 13. Remove bolt, washer, bushing (35) and spring (34) from the lever assembly. 14. Remove pin (36) from lever assembly.Assemble Winch Control Valve
1. Clean and inspect all parts. Make a replacement of the parts that are worn or damaged. Put clean SAE 10W oil on all parts at assembly. 2. Install pin (1) in the lever assembly. The end of pin must be flush with the face of lever within 0.64 N m (.025 in.). 3. Install bushing (3), spring (2) and bolt and washer to lever assembly. 4. Install lever assembly (4) to manifold (5). Torque bolt to 47 4 N m (35 3 lb.ft.). 5. Install ball (6) into the manifold. 6. Drive pin (8) into manifold. Install plug and seal (7). Be sure that the ball is seated so when the pin is installed the ball is retained in the seat area. Drive pin to depth of 2 1 mm (.08 .04 in.) beneath surface of manifold. 7. Install spool, (9), spring (10), plug and seal (11) into manifold. 8. Install spring (16), valve (13) and collar (12) on pin (15) and install pin (14) through hole in pin (15). Assemble valve with chamfered end toward the collar and pin (14) is to be centered on pin (15) within 0.8 mm. (.32 in.). 9. Install valve assembly (17) into the manifold. 10. Align the groove in collar with the pin hole in manifold and install pin (18) to a depth of 2 1 mm (.08 .04 in.) below manifold surface. 11. Install washer (20) and ring (19) on spool (21). 12. Install spool assembly (22) into valve body (24). Install ball and spring (23) and spool and shims (25) into valve body. See TESTING AND ADJUSTING for relief valve pressures. 13. Install spring assembly (27) in body (28). Install slug (30) and O-ring seals (29) into body (28). Assemble body (28) to valve body (24) with plate (26) and
