To decrease the possibility of injury while performing service on the track roller frame and before doing any service work which requires separating a track, a thorough inspection of the front track roller frame should be made as shown in Special Instruction Form SMHS8273.
Removal And Installation Procedure
(1) Some track roller frames were equipped with spacers (1) and (2). Spacer (2) is welded to guide assembly (3) and must be removed from the guide. Keep guide assembly (3); spacers (1) and (2) will not be used again. If the track roller frame was not equipped with spacers, the new 7T1422 Frame Assembly and 7T1429 Support Assembly can be installed without any modifications. (2) Install 7T1429 Support Assembly (4) into recoil spring (5); then install both the spring and support assembly into 4T1422 Frame Assembly (6) using former guide assembly (3) as shown.
