Illustration 1 g00524638Note: Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of differential and bevel gear (4) and the axle housing.
Install O-ring seal (5) on differential and bevel gear (4). Apply Tooling (B) on O-ring seal (5).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to differential and bevel gear (4). The weight of differential and bevel gear (4) is approximately 385 kg (850 lb).
Install differential and bevel gear (4) in the axle housing.

Install bolts (3) and the washers. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 230 40 N m (170 30 lb ft) plus an additional 120 degrees 10 degrees.
Remove Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device.

Install brake line (2). End By:
Install the oscillating axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oscillating Axle (Rear) - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the fixed axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fixed Axle (Front) - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the axle shafts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
