ACTION REQUIRED
A sealing system upgrade is available which increases the life of the seals and strut charge life. The new parts will require machining of the current head to allow for a new 440-0918 Wear Ring, and also machining of the U-cup seal groove, to allow for replacement of the current 329-8979 U-Cup Seal with a new 390-6823 U-Cup Seal and 390-6824 Back-Up Ring. Refer to the print mark-up in Image2 for changes required to use the new seals and wearband.
Refer to SENR1500, Disassembly and Assembly, for instructions on removal and installation, and disassembly and assembly of rear strut assemblies. Machining of the current head assembly is required, in order to allow installation of the wear ring, larger U-cup seal, and Back-up ring. Refer to the head print mark-up in Image1 and 2 for details on the required modifications.
