Use ventilation, exhaust at the arc, or both to keep fumes and gases from your breathing area. Wear eye, ear, and body protection before working. Protect yourself and others by reading and understanding this warning. Fumes and gases can be dangerous to your health. Ultraviolet rays from the weld arc can injure eyes and burn skin. Remove tool box from the machine. Grind both holes on the bottom of the tool box plate to make the holes an oval shape. This rework will allow for side to side movement.

Grind the internal welds on the hinge to remove the hinge.

Remove material on the cover plate to dimension (D1). See Illustration 5.

Remove material on the cover plate corners to Dimension (D3). See Illustration 6.

Weld the hinge, repaint the hinge, and reassemble the tool box.Note: Verify that the tool box does not contact the fuel tank.
