Place the transfer case in a horizontal position.
Lower the temperature of bearing cup (1). Install bearing cup (1) in the transfer case. The bearing cup must be seated in the transfer case.

Heat two bearing cones (2) to a maximum temperature of 135 °C (275 °F). Install the two bearings on the lower transfer gear. The bearing cones must be seated on the gear.

Install lower transfer gear (3) in the transfer case.

Lower the temperature of the bearing cup. Install the bearing cup in bearing cage (4). The bearing cup must be seated in bearing cage (4) .
Install bearing cage (4) in the transfer case. Install two bolts (5) in order to hold the bearing cage in position. The bolts should be evenly spaced. Tighten the two bolts to a torque of 1.7 N m (15 lb in). The lower transfer gear (3) should be rotated three times. Tighten the two bolts to a torque of 3.4 N m (30 lb in). The lower transfer gear (3) should be rotated an additional three times. Tighten the two bolts to a torque of 3.4 N m (30
