Personal Injury or death can result from improperly checking for a leak.Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak. Escaping fluid under pressure, even a pin hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue, causing serious injury, and possible death. If fluid is injected into the skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.
Check all hydraulic oil line connections for damage and for leaks.
Follow all hydraulic oil lines from the attachment to the valve. Check the lines and connections for damage and for leaks.
Check the control valves for leaks.
Check the pump and connections for damage and for leaks.
Follow the pump lines to the tank and to the valves. Check for damage and for leaks on the hydraulic lines and on the hydraulic tank .
Check the oil level in the tank.
Remove the filter element. Check for particles in the filter elements. A magnet separates ferrous particles from nonferrous particles.

Use a clear container in order to obtain an oil sample from the tank. Obtain an oil sample while the machine is running and the pump is at low pressure standby. Check for air bubbles in the oil sample. Illustration 1 and 2 shows the location of oil sampling port (1). Note: Port (1) is a combination of an oil sampling port and a pressure tap. Port (1) is located behind the access door on the right side of the machine.
