Two Driver ID's
The Caterpillar 3176B, C-10, C-12, 3406E, C-15, and C-16 Engine's ECM can maintain information for two Driver ID's at the same time. The ECM will separately store Fleet Trip Information for each of the two drivers. This function is ideally suited for slip seat or team driving. It could also be used by the same driver to track vehicle operation over two legs of a trip (a single driver would use two Driver ID's to identify the different legs of the trip). The Driver ID should be selected or entered before driving the vehicle.The Fleet Trip information, for each of the two drivers, is unavailable for display on the Cat ID. This information is only available by using the Caterpillar Fleet Information Software program.Entering A New Driver ID
A maximum of two Driver ID's can be used for each Fleet Trip Segment. If two Driver ID's have already been entered, and a third (and different) ID is now desired, the Fleet Trip Segment must first be reset. When the Fleet Trip Segment is reset, the Driver ID's are cleared.
Entering a New Driver IDHolding the key (Up or Down arrow) causes the display to fast scroll through the available characters in the specified direction. The right arrow key moves to the adjacent right cursor location. A Driver ID can have a maximum of 16 characters, and a minimum of one character.This information is not available for earlier Caterpillar 3176, 3406B, or 3406C, and all Detroit Diesel, Cummins, or Mack Engines.Selecting a Previously Entered ID
If a Driver ID has previously been entered during the current Fleet Trip Segment, select the entry as indicated below without re-entering the ID.
Selecting a Previously Entered Driver IDFrom the DRIVER ENTRY title screen, press the Down arrow key and the SELECT DRIVER ID screen is shown. Press the Left arrow key and one of the two previously entered Driver ID's will be shown. If an ID has not been previously entered, a NO DRIVER ID'S ENTERED! message will appear. Pressing the Down arrow key will show the other (if entered) Driver ID. Press the Left arrow key to select a Driver ID as the active driver.
