Typical1. Remove the bolts that hold clips (3) in position.2. Remove bolt (2) and the washer. Pull tube assembly (1) and the O-ring seal out of the oil pump.
Typical3. Remove bolt and nut (5). Remove the bolts that hold tube assemblies (4) and (6) in position and remove the tube assemblies as a unit.
Typical4. Remove three bolts (7) and washers to remove oil pump (8) from the engine. The following steps are for the installation of the oil pump.5. Put oil pump (8) in position on the engine and install the three bolts and washers to hold it. Make sure the O-ring seals are installed on the ends of all tube assemblies before they are installed. Put clean engine oil on the O-ring seals at assembly.6. Install tube assembly (6) in tube assembly (4). Put the tube assemblies in position as a unit and install the bolts to hold them.7. Install bolt and nut (5) to hold the clip to the support.8. Install tube assembly (1) and the bolt and washer to hold it in the oil pump. Start By:a. remove oil pump 1. Remove the bolt and pull pipe assembly (1) out of the pump body. 2. Remove O-ring seal (2) from pipe assembly (1).3. Remove clip (4) and screen assembly (3) from the bell assembly. 4. Remove the bolts and washers to remove brackets (5), (6) and bell assembly (7) from pipe assembly (1). 5. Remove bolt (9), thrust plate (8) and idler gear (10) from the shaft assembly. 6. Use Tool group (A) and a press to remove the bearing from idler gear (10). 7. Remove the bolts and shaft assembly (12) from the pump body.8. Remove the bolt and washer (11) that hold the pump drive gear. 9. Use Tooling (A) and (B) to remove drive gear (13) from the pump. Remove the key from the pump shaft. 10. Remove the bolts and body (15) from the spacer and body (14). 11. If necessary, use a press and Tool group (A) to push bearings (16) from body (15). 12. Remove gears (18) from the shaft assemblies.13. Remove spacer (17) from body (14). 14. If necessary, remove bearings (19) from spacer (17). 15. Remove shaft assemblies (20) and (21) from body (14). 16. Remove retainer (22), spacer (25), spring (24) and plunger (23) from body (14). 17. If necessary, use Tool group (A) and a press to push bearings (26) out of body (14). The following steps are for the assembly of the oil pump.18. Make sure all of the parts are clean and free of dirt and foreign material. Put clean engine oil on the parts at assembly. 19. Use Tool group (A) to install bearings (26) until they are even with the outside surface of main pump body (14). Install bearings (26) so the junctions in the bearings are 30
