The separation of the carbody and undercarriage was done with the use of the machine's hydraulics and a qualified operator. However, this procedure must only be used if a crane of the correct capacity is not available. The carbody on this machine weighs 44,000 lb. (19 800 kg). All personnel that are to give assistance in the operation must use extreme caution and must be alert to any sudden movements of the machine during separation.
1. If possible, move the machine to a hard level surface for stability and balance. 2. Connect the ends of both swing drive motor lines (2) and close the end of the small hydraulic line (1) with tooling (A). 3. Disconnect seven oil lines (4) and (5) from the manifold on the swivel.
