The air conditioning compressor mounting plate needs to be replaced on the products listed below. The existing mounting plate can damage the fitting on the compressor. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 12Jun2007 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
Step 1. Remove the 235-4973 Bolt.
Step 2. Install the 301-3210 Plate and 301-3211 Plate.
Install the 8T-4196 Bolt and 8T-4121 Washer. Tighten to a torque of 55 +/-10 Nm. Install the 8T-4198 Bolt and 8T-4121 Washer. Tighten to a torque of 55 +/-10 Nm.
Step 3. Remove the 8T-4196 Bolt.
Step 4. Check alternator belt tension (445N).
Check compressor belt tension (445N).
