Install O-ring seal (19) on seal retainer (17).

Lubricate the axle with clean oil. Install seal retainer (17) on the axle. Use a suitable lifting device in order to position the steering arm. The weight of the steering arm and the attachments is approximately 73 kg (160 lb). Install bolts (18).
Install seal retainer (17).

Use Tooling (D) in order to install Duo-Cone seal (16). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Duo-Cone Seals - Install".
Install bearing cone (15).

Install bearing cup (14). Ensure that bearing cup (14) is seated correctly.

Install bearing cup (13). Ensure that bearing cup (13) is seated correctly.

Install disc (12). Install bolts (11). Tighten bolts (11) to a torque of 750 80 N m (550 60 lb ft).
Use Tooling (D) in order to install Duo-Cone seal (10).

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to install wheel assembly (5). The weight of wheel assembly (5) is approximately 193 kg (425 lb).
Install bearing cone (9).
Bearing Preload Procedure

Install retainer (7). Install three of bolts (6). Note: Do not install the shims at this time.
Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 102 N m (75 lb ft). Rotate the front wheel
Tighten bolts (6) again to a torque of 136 N m (100 lb ft). Rotate the front wheel.
Loosen bolts (6). Rotate the front wheel by two revolutions. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 68 N m (50 lb ft). Rotate the front wheel.
Tighten bolts (6) again to a torque of 68 N m (50 lb ft). Rotate the front wheel.
Use Tooling (C) in order to measure the distance from the top of retainer (7) to end of the axle at two locations. Average the two measurements and record the result as Dimension (A).
Measure the thickness of retainer (7) at three locations. Average the three measurements. Record the result as Dimension (B). Subtract Dimension (B) from Dimension (A). Record the result as Dimension (C).
Remove bolts (6) and retainer (7)

Apply Tooling (F) onto bolts (6). Install a number of shims (8) that is equal to Dimension (C) plus an additional 0.25 mm (0.010 inch). Install retainer (7) and bolts (6). Turn the front wheel slowly and tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 22 6 N m (16 4 lb ft). Replace the bolt if the bolt does not seat fully. Again, turn the front wheel slowly and tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 125 20 N m (92 15 lb ft). Finally, turn the front wheel slowly and tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 250 40 N m (184 30 lb ft).

Lubricate O-ring seal (4) with clean oil. Install O-ring seal (4) on cover (3). Position cover (3) on the front wheel, as shown. Install bolts (2) in cover (3).
Fill the front wheel with lubricant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Front Wheel Oil - Change" for the correct procedure to fill the front wheel. End By:
