Family Of EnginesDescription of Change: A new cylinder head gasket is used on all 3500 Engines. The new gasket has a bead of sealant on both sides of the gasket encompassing the push rod compartment.Adaptable To: The new 1011188 Cylinder Head Gasket is a direct replacement for the former 7W7730 Cylinder Head Gasket and the former 4P0601 Cylinder Head Gasket used on some high horsepower engines and engines for Caterpillar built machines. The new gasket is adaptable to first production. Gasket kits have not been updated. It may be necessary to order additional parts for those kits. There are two cylinder head torque specifications. If the cylinder head is shot peened, use the higher 425 ft lb torque. If the cylinder head is not shot peened, use the lower 330 ft lb torque.
