980C, 988B LoadersReference: Special Instruction, Form SMHS8285, "Installation of 6T6051 Manifold Assembly" and MCE Guide, Technical Supplement No. 053.As transmissions for the above machines are being rebuilt for Major Component Exchange (MCE), they are being updated to include a new manifold and external lubrication line. These improved components were announced in Service Magazine dated November 19, 1984, Page 8. This change provides a more constant flow of lubrication oil to the first speed clutch and planetary gear set over the full range of engine rpm and ground speeds.
When installing a Y193, Y237, Y243, Y344, Y356, Y383, or Y384 MCE Transmission with any external oil line, do not remove the line during installation. Internal oil passages are blocked when this line is added. Removing the line would eliminate all lubrication to the first speed planetary carrier.
