Information:
Start by:a) remove drive shaft1. Drain the oil from the hydraulic oil tank.2. Disconnect oil inlet line (1), rear brake release line (4), line (3) to the diverter valve and air line (2) from the parking and emergency brake control valve.3. Disconnect hose assembly (6) from the transmission. Remove two clips (5) from the top of the transmission and pull the hose assembly clear.4. Disconnect hose assembly (7) from the sequence and pressure control valve. Pull the hose assembly clear of the transmission.5. Disconnect wire (8) from the shift solenoids, wire (10) from the transmission electrical controls and wires (9) from the speedometer sensor. Remove the clips that hold it and pull the wiring harness clear of the transmission. 6. Disconnect hose assembly (11) from the filter housing. Remove the clip that holds it and pull the hose assembly clear of the transmission.7. Fasten tooling (A) to the transmission with two 5/8" -11 NC bolts 1 1/2" long. Fasten a hoist to the transmission and tooling (A) as shown. Remove bolts (13). Remove transmission and transfer gears (12). The weight of the transmission and transfer gears is 2500 lb (1125 kg). INSTALL TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER GEARS
1. Check the O-ring seal on the differential for wear or damage. If necessary, make a replacement.2. Fasten tooling (A) to the transmission with two 5/8" -11 NC bolts 1 1/2" long. Fasten a hoist to the transmission and tooling (A) as shown. Put transmission and transfer gears (1) in position on the differential. Install the bolts that hold it.3. Connect hose assembly (2) to the filter housing. Install the clip that holds the hose assembly in position. 4. Put the wiring harness in position on the transfer gear case. Connect wire (3) to the shift solenoids, wires (5) to the speedometer sensor and wire (4) to the transmission electrical controls.5. Connect hose assembly (6) to the sequence and pressure control valve.6. Connect hose assembly (7) to the transmission. Install two clips (8) on top of the transmission to hold the hose assembly in position.7. Install oil line (9), rear brake release line (11), line (12) to the diverter valve and air line (10) on the parking and emergency control valve.8.
