Introduction
This Special Instruction describes the installation procedure for a new bucket. The type of bottom bucket pin has changed to a sleeve bearing. In order to accommodate this change, a new installation procedure has been created and new tooling is required.Do not perform any procedure that is outlined in this publication until you have read the information and you understand the information. Measure the width across the outside faces of the inserts in the bottom bucket pin. Record the value. The width should be approximately 1050 mm (41.3).
Measure the overall length of cartridge (1). The nominal value should be approximately 1042 mm (41.0).
Use the necessary amount of shims (3) and shims (4) in order to create a total shim thickness that is equal to the difference between the dimension from Step 1 and the dimension from Step 2 plus 2 mm (0.08 inch).
