When reporting the repair, use "PS0273" as Part Number and "7755" as Group Number. Termination Date

Problem
The 6T8021 (12V) and 6T8022 (24V) Solenoid Groups may fail and cause the engine to shut down and/or not start. An improved solenoid group can be installed. If the improved solenoid group (8C4770 or 8C4771) fails, it can also be claimed under this Program.

Action Required
Parts Stock Remove all 6T8021 and 6T8022 Solenoid Groups with date codes lower than 306 from parts stock. The 6T8021 and 6T8022 Solenoid Groups with date codes of 306 and higher are good. Affected Product If the engine shuts down or will not start, the solenoid group should be replaced only if troubleshooting indicates the solenoid is at fault. See the attached troubleshooting procedure. This Program is intended to support failed solenoids, not OEM wiring problems, such as: Wire gauge too small (should be 14 gauge minimum, length less than or equal to 10 feet) Fuse or circuit breaker incorrect (should be 15A slow blow) Key switch fails Ground not adequate WARRANTY ALLOWANCES Submit one claim for all 6T8021 and 6T8022 Solenoid Groups removed from parts stock. U.S. and Canadian Dealers Return all 6T8021 and 6T8022 Solenoid Groups that are removed from parts stock and a copy of the claim to: Caterpillar Inc. Attn: Supplier Recovery Supervisor Warehouse #4 Docks 5 thru 9 8201 N. University Peoria, IL 61615 Handle the used solenoid groups in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
