(1) Service Software FilesThe Flash Files can be downloaded from Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS) under "Service Software Files" (1). Search the Flash File by entering the software part number into the "Flash Filename" search field. The latest software file will be displayed for download.The software flash files must be installed to the machine with the Plus+1 Service Tool for Caterpillar (P1STC) software program with the machine specific .P1D CAT Diagnostic File, "PCOM_T4iWB_LB".Ensure to save the machine parameters in the first step of the Flash ECM Service procedure, before flashing the new software. If the machine parameters were not saved, a current calibration for propel and machine configuration will be required.External radio interference from external power supplies, old, or self manufactured cables, and/or low machine battery voltage can affect the flash procedure. Perform the flash procedure with laptop battery power above 50%, the recommended Caterpillar cables, and fully charged machine batteries. If the flash process fails, an ECM recovery procedure may be necessary in order to restart the flash procedure. The recovery procedure requires (CG-150) recovery cables.Establish connection and communication are between the machine and service tool. The flash procedure may require up to 45 additional minutes when using the Comm 3 adapter cable. The (CG-150) recovery cables perform approximately five times faster for certain ECMs.The new Machine and Display Software is adaptable to the following machines:
