Bucket Control
The following procedure describes the general operation for the 938G Wheel Loader. The bucket control group consists of the components that are identified in Illustration 1. This type of bucket control group is known as a Z-bar linkage because of the configuration of the tilt cylinder, lever assembly, and link assembly. The Z-bar linkage allows the bucket to remain in the same position as the lift arms raise.

Bucket Control Group (1) Head end of the tilt cylinder. (2) Rod end of the tilt cylinder. (3) Lever assembly. (4) Bucket. (5) Head end of the lift cylinders. (6) Rod end of the lift cylinders. (7) Link assembly. (8) Lift arm. When the operator moves the control levers in the cab, the bucket control group moves. Valve spools in the main control valve control the flow of oil to the head end and the rod end of the cylinders. When high pressure oil flows to the head end of lift cylinders (5), lift arms (8) raise. When high pressure oil flows to the rod end of the lift cylinders (6), lift arms (8) lower.Bucket (4) tilts back when high pressure oil flows to the head end of tilt cylinder (1). Bucket (4) dumps when high pressure oil flows to the rod end of tilt cylinder (2) .Implement Control
The following procedure describes the general operation for the IT38G Integrated Toolcarrier.

Implement Control Group (1) Head end of the tilt cylinders. (2) Rod end of the tilt cylinders. (3) Quick coupler. (4) Head end of the lift cylinders. (5) Rod end of the lift cylinders. (6) Lift arms. When you move the control levers in the cab, the implement functions accordingly. Valve spools that are in the main control valve control the flow of oil to the head end and to the rod end of the cylinders. When high pressure oil flows to the head end of lift cylinders (4), lift arms (6) raise. When high pressure oil flows to the rod end of lift cylinders (5), lift arms (6) lower.Coupler cylinder (3) dumps when high pressure oil flows to the head end of tilt cylinders (1). Quick coupler (3) tilts back when high pressure oil flows to the rod end of tilt cylinders (2).

Coupler Cylinder (7) Head end of the coupler cylinder. (8) Rod end of the coupler cylinder. The coupler cylinder locks material handling work tools onto the quick coupler (3). When high pressure oil flows to the head end of coupler cylinder (7), the rod extends. This puts the coupler cylinder in the LOCKED position. When high pressure oil flows to the rod end of the coupler cylinder (8), the material handling work tool is released from quick coupler (3). This puts the coupler cylinder in the UNLOCKED position.
