Removal and Installation Procedure
Personal injury can result from contact with refrigerant.Contact with refrigerant can cause frost bite. Keep face and hands away to help prevent injury.Protective goggles must always be worn when refrigerant lines are opened, even if the gauges indicate the system is empty of refrigerant.Always use precaution when a fitting is removed. Slowly loosen the fitting. If the system is still under pressure, release it slowly in a well ventilated area.Personal injury or death can result from inhaling refrigerant through a lit cigarette.Inhaling air conditioner refrigerant gas through a lit cigarette or other smoking method or inhaling fumes released from a flame contacting air conditioner refrigerant gas, can cause bodily harm or death.Do not smoke when servicing air conditioners or wherever refrigerant gas may be present.Use a certified recovery and recycling cart to properly remove the refrigerant from the air conditioning system.
Note: Before you begin the following procedure, swing the upper structure in order to gain access to the panel that is located under the cab. This will allow access to the In-Line Refrigerant Dryer.

This is a view of the underside of the operator platform.
Remove two bolts (1) and the washers. Remove two bolts (2), the washers, and the spacers.
Remove plate (3). The weight of plate (3) is approximately 7 kg (15 lb).
Stop the engine. Wait for five minutes in order to allow the air conditioning system to equalize the pressure.

Remove bolt (7). Remove clip (6) .
Disconnect the "In" hose (8) from the old dryer (5) at the coupler.
Connect the "In" hose (8) that was disconnected in Step 5 to the new dryer at the coupler.
Add 30 mL (1 oz) of refrigerant oil to the air conditioning system.Note: Refer to Special Publication, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning And Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for more information.
Start the engine. Operate the air conditioning system for one minute.
Disconnect the "Out" hose (4) from the old dryer (5) at the coupler while you run the engine.
Stop the engine. Wait for five minutes in order to allow the air conditioning system to equalize the pressure.
Connect the "Out" hose (4) that was disconnected in Step 9 to the new dryer at the coupler.
Install clip (6). Install bolt (7) .
Position plate (3) on the machine. Install the spacers, the washers, and two bolts (2). Install the washers and two bolts (1) .
