(3) Back ButtonThe "Events List" screen will display a fault list when active and/or logged events are present. A code, description, and activity status will accompany each event:
The letter "X" will appear in the "Active" column when the status of the event is "Active".
A dash (-) will appear in the "Active" column when the status of the event is logged (and not "Active").Note: Pressing the warning symbol on the lower banner will open a detailed message concerning the highlighted event.
Scroll through the list of events line-by-line by pressing the up and down arrow buttons on the right side of the display. A different event will highlight in yellow at the press of the up and down arrow button.
Scroll through pages of events by pressing the up and down double arrow buttons on the top of the display page.Events Details
Service > Diagnostics > Events DetailsPress an Event that is highlighted in yellow and the "Events Details" screen will appear with additional information.

Using Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat® ET) Service Tool to Determine Diagnostic Trouble Codes
Connect Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat® ET) service tool to the ET port on the machine.
Turn the key switch to the RUN position.
Start the Cat ET software on the laptop. Cat ET will initiate communications with the Electronic Control Modules (ECM) on the machine. After communication has been established, Cat ET will list the available ECM machine modules.

From the "File" menu, choose "Select ECM". Choose the desired ECM to view the diagnostic codes associated with that ECM.

Choose from either "Active Diagnostic Codes" or "Logged Diagnostic Codes".

Review the code list. Active diagnostic information includes a component identifier (CID), a failure mode identifier (FMI), and a text description of the problem. The logged diagnostic code screen includes the CID, FMI, and a text description of the code. In addition, the logged diagnostic data includes the number of occurrences, and the first and last time the problem has occurred.Note: Diagnostics are logged in non-volatile memory.
