preparatory step: a) remove flywheel housing 1. Remove both turbocharger oil drain lines (1).2. Remove variable timing drive gear cover (2).3. Remove idler gear (3), using tool (A), remove the bearing from idler gear (3). 4. Remove O-ring seals at locations (4), (5) and (6). Remove timing gear plate. 5. Remove oil line (7). Remove the camshaft drive idler gear (8), retaining bolts, lock and shaft. Using tool (B), remove the bearing from idler gear. 6. Remove oil pump idler gear (9) from flywheel housing. Using tool (C) remove idler gear bearing.Install Rear Timing Gears And Plate
1. Install bearing in oil pump drive gear using tool (C). Install the oil pump idler gear in flywheel housing. 2. Install bearing in the camshaft drive idler gear using tool (B). Install camshaft drive idler gear, shaft, retaining bolts and lock. 3. Position the timing gear plate (1) on engine. Install retaining bolts and locks.4. Install the O-ring seals on oil tubes. 5. Install bearings in idler gear (2) using tool (A). Install idler gear (2) and idler gear shaft (3).6. Install variable timing drive gear cover and both turbocharger oil drain lines.concluding steps: a) install flywheel housingb) check fuel injection pump camshaft timing as outlined in TESTING AND ADJUSTING
