Position the stick at a 70 degree angle to the ground.

Position the bucket cutting edge at a 120 degree angle to the ground. Maximum breakout force can now be exerted with the bucket.

Move the stick toward the cab and keep the bucket perpendicular to the ground.

If the stick stops due to the load, raise the boom and/or perform a curl in order to adjust the depth of the cut.
To apply the greatest force at the cutting edge, decrease the down pressure as you move the stick toward the cab.
Maintain a bucket attitude that ensures a continuous flow of material into the bucket.
Continue the pass in a horizontal direction so that material peels into the bucket.
Close the bucket and raise the boom when the pass has been completed.
Engage the swing control when the bucket is clear of the excavation.
To dump a load, move the stick outward and open the bucket in a continuous motion. Lifting Objects
To prevent injury, do not exceed the rated load capacity of the machine. If the machine is not on level ground, load capacities will vary.
The grapple or the magnet can swing in all directions. Personal injury can result if the attachment swings into the cab or a person in the work area.

Obey these local regulations.Note: When the machine is used for lifting objects within an area that is controlled by the "European Directive 89/392/EEC", the machine must be equipped with a boom lowering control device and with an overload warning device. These devices must be used in lifting applications.The use of the overload warning device is described in Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Overload Warning Device".

For machines which are equipped with a bucket, use the eye on the power link in order to lift objects. The lifting capacities are calculated at this point. Use this fact when you calculate the lifting load.If the eye is utilized, the connection must be made with a shackle or a clevis.For machines which are not equipped with a bucket, use the pin joint at the end of the stick to lift the objects. The lifting capacities are calculated by using the pin joint without the attachment. Use this fact when you calculate the lifting load.Note: Short slings will prevent excessive load swing.The following instances will create an unstable load condition:
The lifting load exceeds the machine load rating.
A heavy load is swung over an end.
A heavy load is swung over a side.When you pick up an object, the most stable lift position is over a corner. In order to increase stability, the operator may also lower the blade or the stabilizer.Note: For the best stability, carry a load as close as possible to the machine and to the ground.
