Remove the hood.
Personal injury or death can result from lifting a heavy component.The heavy component can fall if using an incorrect hoist and/or sling or fastener to lift the load.Be sure the hoist and other devices have the correct lifting capacity to lift a heavy component. The approximate weight of the heavy component is given below.

Remove guard rail (1) .

Remove plugs (2) .

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to counterweight (3). The weight of counterweight (3) is approximately 6577 kg (14500 lb). Apply slight tension to counterweight (3) .

Remove bolts (4) and the spacers.

Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to carefully remove counterweight (3) from the machine.Installation Procedure
Install counterweight (3) in reverse order of the removal procedure.
Apply Tooling (B) to bolts (4) prior to installation.
