Removal Procedure
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
When servicing or repairing electric power generation equipment:Make sure the unit is off-line (disconnected from utility and/or other generators power service), and either locked out or tagged DO NOT OPERATE. Remove all fuses.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery or Battery Cable Disconnect".

Disconnect cable assembly (1) and harness assemblies (2) and (3) from alternator (4) .

Remove bolt (5) from bracket (6). Reposition belt (7) away from the alternator. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".

Position alternator (4) and install bolts (8) .

Position belt (7) on the alternator. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace". Position bracket (5) and install bolt (6) .

Connect harness assemblies (3) and (2) and cable assembly (1) to alternator (4) .
