Fuel Tank Cap and Screen
Wash the Cap and Screen
Pressure air can cause personal injury.When using pressure air for cleaning, wear a protective face shield, protective clothing and protective shoes.The maximum air pressure must be below 205 kPa (30 psi) for cleaning purposes.Use all cleaning solutions with care.
1. Remove the cap (1) and screen (2).2. Wash in clean, nonflammable solvent and dry.3. Install the screen and cap.Fuel Filter and Inlet Screen
Change the Filter
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.
Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.
1. Open the access panel on the right side of the machine. 2. Close both the fuel shutoff valves. 3. Open the engine access cover. 4. Remove and discard the filter element.5. Clean the filter element mounting base. Be sure all of the old seal is removed.6. Coat the seal of the new filter element with clean diesel fuel.7. Install the new filter element by hand. When the seal contacts the base, tighten 3/4 turn more.There are rotation-index marks 90° apart on the filter. Use them as a guide for proper tightening.Clean the Inlet Screen
1. Remove the plug with O-ring seal.2. Remove the fuel inlet screen.3. Wash the screen in clean, nonflammable solvent.4. Inspect the condition of the seal and replace if damaged or worn.5. Install the screen and plug with seal.6. Close the engine access cover.7. Open the two fuel shutoff valves.8. Close the access panel on the right side of the machine.
