Apply the fillet weld (K) over the bevel weld between the reinforcement plates and the side plates. Use a 12 mm (0.5 inch) by a 40 mm (1.57 inch) fillet weld (K) with a 1.5 mm (0.059 inch) penetration. Remove the slag and clean the weld. Needle peen the weld between the passes.

Position the 290-0745 Plate (reinforcement) (12) plate on top of the center plate. Align the holes (P) in both plates. Tack weld (Q) the reinforcement plate to the center plate.

Weld the bevels between the reinforcement plate and the side plates with a 20 mm (0.78 inch) bevel weld (T). Remove the slag and clean the weld. Needle peen the weld between the passes.

Add four run off tabs (13) to the ends of the horizontal reinforcement plates.

Use a 40 mm (1.6 inch) V-groove weld (V) and weld the horizontal reinforcement plates. Remove the slag and clean the weld. Needle peen the weld between the passes.

Cut off the run off tabs (13). Grind all surfaces of the bevel welds smooth and flush with surrounding surfaces.

Apply a 12 mm (0.5 inch) by a 60 mm (2.4 inch) fillet weld (AA) with a 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) penetration over the bevel welds at the front of the reinforcement plates. Do not weld in this area (HH) .

Weld two 9R-2672 Threaded Bosses (14) onto 290-0745 Plate (reinforcement) (12) with 3 mm (0.12 inch) fillet welds.
