ARTICULATED TRUCK,
Compatible equipment models: 1236255:
Information:
Automatic Engine Speed Control (AEC) will increase engine speed automatically when you operate the control levers and/or travel pedals with AEC switch on.When loading and unloading machine from truck or working in close quarters always turn AEC switch off to prevent any possibility of sudden movement of machine, which could result in serious injury or death.Set the travel speed control switch to LOW before loading the machine. Never operate this switch when loading the machine on a trailer.
Investigate the travel route for overpass clearances. Make sure there will be adequate clearance for the machine.Remove ice, snow, or other slippery material from the loading dock and the truck bed before loading. This will prevent the machine from slipping while loading or shifting in transit.
Obey all state and local laws governing the mass, width, and length of a load.Observe all regulations governing wide loads.
1. Choose the flattest ground possible for loading or unloading the machine.2. Block the trailer or rail car wheels before loading.3. Make sure that there is adequate length, width, firmness, and slope to the loading ramps being used.4. The angle between the loading ramps and the ground, should be less than 15 degrees.5. Position the machine so that it can be run straight on the loading ramps. The final drives should be to the rear of the machine when loading and unloading the machine. Never operate control levers other than the travel lever while the machine is on the loading ramps.6. Maintain the machine balance point while traveling over the loading ramp joint areas.7. Lower the implement to the bed of floor of the transport machine.8. Be sure to check both tracks, install sufficient tie-downs at several locations and fasten wire rope cables to prevent rolling or sudden movement of the machine.
Do not allow the chrome surface of the bucket cylinder rod to touch any part of the trailer. Damage to the rod can occur from impact with the trailer during transport.
Securing The Machine
Never transport the machine with the engine running. If the fine swing control (if equipped) is left ON with the engine running, the swing parking brake (if equipped) will stay disengaged.
Comply with regulations governing length, width, height, and mass of the load. 1. Move the hydraulic activation control lever to the LOCKED position.2. Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position to stop the engine and remove the key.3. Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key.4. Remove the ether cylinder from the valve. Refer to the Ether Starting Aid section in this manual.5. Lock the door, access covers, and attach any vandalism protection.
(1) LOCKED position. (2) UNLOCKED position.6. Move the swing lock brake to the LOCKED position. This will keep the upper frame from swinging during machine transportation.7. Cover the exhaust opening. Turbocharger (if equipped) damage can result if turbocharger rotates without the engine running. Before removing the machine from the transport, remove the exhaust stack covering. 8. Block the tracks and secure the machine with tie
