Modifications can be made to the current 2P8315 Bracket Assembly to correct the above problems. Use the procedure which follows:
Modification Of 2P8315 Bracket Assembly
1. To prevent contact between the bracket assembly and the locator on governor housings for 3208 Engines, cut the relief approximately 3.0 mm (.12") deeper.2. To prevent contact between the locating dowel for sleeve metering fuel systems used on 3306 Engines and later design governor housings used on 3304 Engines, grind the dowel as shown in Illustration 4.3. To prevent contact between the 2P8315 Bracket Assembly and the J23300-300 Pump Fixture, grind material from the bracket assembly until there is enough clearance.
