1. Check wheels daily before operation for abnormal or uneven wear, indicating mechanical trouble such as a misaligned wheel. 2. Check daily before operation that all wheel lug nuts are present and tight. Loose or missing wheel lug nuts can cause dangerous wheel shimmy and loss of vehicle control. Tightening wheel lug nuts excessively can cause dangerous stud breakage.3. Check wheels daily before operation for fatigue cracks. Replace if cracked, badly worn, damaged or severely rusted.4. Clean and repaint rims to stop detrimental effects of corrosion. 5. Periodically check the torque output of air operated wrenches to be sure the wrenches are operating properly. 6. Regardless of how hard or firm the ground appears, always put hardwood blocks under the jack when changing a tire. 7. Block the tires and wheels on the other side of the vehicle before you place the jack in position. Always crib the vehicle with blocks, just in case the jack slips. 8. When using a cable or chain sling to lift a wheel, stand clear. The cable or chain might snap and lash out.
