Information:
the machine harness connector for the sensor, insert a 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the power supply contact B (wire 158-BR). Use the other multimeter probe to make contact with frame ground. Measure the DC voltage.
One multimeter probe remains along the power supply contact B (wire 158-BR). Insert the other multimeter probe along ground contact A (wire J878-YL). Measure the DC voltage.Expected Result:Both voltage measurements are at the system voltage level.Results:
OK - The voltage measurements are each system voltage level. The power supply for the sensor is correct. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - One or both of the voltage measurements is less than system voltage level. The power supply for the sensor is not correct. Repair: If the measurement from the sensor supply contact to frame ground is correct and the measurement from the sensor supply contact to the sensor ground contact is not correct, there is an open or a bad connection in the sensor ground circuit. Refer to the full machine Electrical System Schematic. Examine all of the connectors
