Air under pressure can cause personal injury. Before working on or around the air systems and components observe the following precautions.
a. Move the machine to a smooth and level location away from other working machines and personnel. Block the wheels and stop the engine.b. Keep clear of actuator pushrods and linkages when the system is being operated in any way.c. Do not remove plugs or lines, or disassemble components unless you are sure that all air pressure is exhausted.d. Do not disassemble a component unless you have read and understood the correct procedures. Some components contain powerful springs. Injury can result from incorrect disassembly. Put identification on all lines, tubes and hoses for installation purposes. 1. Disconnect all the necessary lines (2) from the relay valve.2. Remove the valve mounting bolts and then remove relay valve (1). The following steps are for the installation of the relay valves.3. Put relay valve (1) in position with the mounting bolts that hold it.4. Connect all the required lines (2) to the relay valve.Disassemble & Assemble Relay Valves

Put identification on all lines, tubes and hoses for installation purposes. 1. Remove screw (1), the washer and diaphragm (2). 2. Remove the screws and cover (3). 3. Remove retaining ring (7), retainer (10), O-ring seals (6), retainer (9), spring (5), valve guide (8) and valve assembly (4). 4. Remove four bolts (11) and body (12). 5. Remove piston (13) and remove the O-ring seal from the piston. 6. Remove fitting (14). Remove O-ring seal (15) and valve (16). 7. Remove seal (17). The following steps are for the assembly of the relay valves.8. Install seal (17).9. Install O-ring seal (15). Install valve (16) and fitting (14).10. Install the O-ring seal on piston (13). Install the piston in the cover.11. Install body (12) and bolts (11).12. Install valve assembly (4), valve guide (8), spring (5), retainer (9), O-ring seals (6), retainer (10) and retaining ring (7).13. Install cover (3) and the screws.14.
