This diagnostic code is caused by an abnormal data link communication between the advisor module and the power train ECM. The update rate is not correct. Check for a diagnostic code that is related to the data link. Correct the related diagnostic codes.The Cat Data Link is an input and output for all electronic control modules. The data link is designed to carry communications between all electronic control modules and service tools. The data link is not a visible component. The data link consists of internal control circuits and the connecting harness wiring. System Response:
A loss of AUTO Blade Assist features. ABA includes the following features: AUTO spread function, AUTO return and AUTO pitch.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOFTWARE PART NUMBERS.
Verify that the part numbers for the implement software and the part numbers for the power train software are correct. Note: Consult the Business Unit that is producing the product for the correct software part numbers.Expected Result:The software part numbers are correct.Results:
OK - The software part numbers are correct. Proceed to test step 2.
NOT OK - The software part number is not correct.Repair: Install the correct software. If any electronic control modules have been replaced, ensure that the correct part number was used. If the diagnostic code remains active, exit this test procedure and perform this diagnostic code again. Otherwise, continue to the next test step.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK THE BATTERY VOLTAGE AT THE POWER TRAIN ECM.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the J2 machine harness connector from the power train ECM.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Ensure that the power train ECM is receiving the correct power to all possible sources of power. Expected Result:The voltage should measure 18 to 32.5 VDC.Results:
YES - The voltage measures 18 to 32.5 VDC. The voltage is correct. Proceed to test step 3.
NO - The voltage is NOT correct.Repair: Repair the cause of the incorrect voltage. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, exit this procedure and perform this procedure again.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK THE DATA LINK FOR A SHORT TO GROUND.
The disconnect switch and the key start switch remain in the OFF position.
Inspect the machine harness connectors that are related to the circuits of the Cat Data Link. Ensure that the connector contacts are clean. Ensure that the connectors are tight and mated properly . Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.
Disconnect the machine harness from all electronic control modules.
At the machine harness connector for the advisor module, measure the resistance between connector contact 9 (wire 892-BR(Brown)) and contact 8 (wire 893-GN(Green)) of the Cat Data Link. Expected Result:The resistance should be greater than 5000 ohms.Results:
YES - The resistance measurement is greater than 5000 ohms. The machine harness for the advisor module is correct. Proceed to test step 4.
NO - The resistance is less than 5000 ohms. There is a short in the machine harness for
