PROBLEM: Prior to calibration, it is necessary to configure the implement control system.
SOLUTION: Using Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET), select "File" from the main menu. Select "ECM", then "Implement", then select "OK". The configuration screen can be found under the "Service" menu by selecting "Configuration". The status of a feature can be changed by selecting the feature name, click on the "change" button in the lower left hand corner. Use the pull down menu to program the desired status of the feature and then select "OK".
The following parameters should be configured prior to calibration of the implement control system. If no parameters have been configured, then configuration should be performed in the order listed. Otherwise perform only the necessary configurations.

Changes that are made to the status of the Electrohydraulic Implement Control System parameters in the configuration screen will not take effect until the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) is disconnected or exited and the machine has been powered off.
Medium Wheel Loader G-Series II ET Implement Calibration and Service Mode
Implement Calibration
For the Implement Calibration procedure, the implement ECM should be selected. Under the "Service" menu, select "Calibration". If no calibrations have been completed, then the calibrations should be performed in the order listed under the calibration option including the lever, linkage, and valve calibrations. A calibration can be exited at any time by selecting the "Cancel" button.
Implement Service Mode
For the Implement Service Mode, the implement ECM should be selected. The Implement-Hydraulic Service Mode can be used for diagnostic testing; it is available in ET under the "Diagnostics" menu. Then go to "Diagnostics Test" and select Implement?Hydraulic Service Mode. Follow the instructions to enter the test mode. The Service Mode can be exited at any time by selecting the "Cancel" button.
