Schematic for the Action AlarmThis diagnostic code is recorded when the Main Display Module reads the voltage of the circuit for the Action Alarm and the circuit is above normal. The result of this diagnostic code is the continuous sounding of the action alarm. The schematic that is shown above represents a typical installation of the component. Verify the connector contact and the wire numbers by utilizing the Electrical System Schematic for the machine that is being serviced. System Response:When this diagnostic code is active, the following occurs:
The alarm horn is continuously active.
Operator station fault lamp is active.Test Step 1. CHECK THE ALARM CIRCUIT.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness from the Main Display Module.
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Listen for the SOUNDING of the action alarm.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.Expected Result: The alarm is sounding.Results:
YES - The alarm is SOUNDING. The harness circuit 410-WH is shorted to the +battery.Repair: Repair the harness or replace the harness.STOP
NO - The alarm does NOT SOUND. The main display module may have failed.Repair: If the cause of the problem is not found, contact the Technical Communicator for your dealership for possible consultation with Caterpillar. This consultation may greatly reduce repair time. It is unlikely that the main display module has failed. Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again. Also, recheck if the diagnostic code indicator is illuminated for this diagnostic code. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, replace the main display module.
