Which Generate This Code:This diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM detects an option code that is not valid. When the ECM is turned "ON", the ECM looks at the option code input. If the input does not represent a valid options code, this diagnostic code is recorded. The options code plug tells the ECM the options that are installed on the machine.Note: Ensure that the diagnostic code is active and that the diagnostic code indicator is active.Test Step 1. Check the Option Code.

YES - The option code is correct.Repair: Inspect the connector contacts of the harness. Connect the harness to the power train ECM. Clear the diagnostic code. Turn the key start switch to the OFF position and then turn the key start switch back to the ON position in order to recheck the power train ECM. If the same diagnostic code is active, replace the power train ECM. Stop.
NO - The option code is not correct.Repair: Repair the circuit for the options code and/or replace the harness. Clear the diagnostic code. For more information on replacing the power train ECM, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (Power Train) - Replace". Stop.
