Information:

Adjustment of Valve 2
Start the engine. Run the engine at high idle.
Place the hydraulic lockout control in the UNLOCKED position.
Ensure that the parking brake switch is in the OFF position.
Depress the forward travel pedal completely while you hold the service brake down. This will stall the pump in the reverse direction.Note: By short circuiting the pump, the functions of the travel pedals for this test have been reversed. The forward travel pedal will control the reverse direction and the reverse speed of the machine.Note: At this time, system pressure will become unstable at reverse port (XA). This is a normal reaction for the pump.

Pressure override valve 1
While you monitor the pressure at reverse port (XA), slowly turn in adjustment screw (1) until the system pressure just begins to stabilize. At this point, the pressure override valve is set correctly.Note: Turn in adjustment screw (1) only until the system pressure just stabilizes. If you continue to turn in adjustment screw (1), system pressure will increase and an unnecessary amount of oil will be forced over the main crossover relief valves. This will cause the oil temperature to increase rapidly, and the pressure override valves will be less efficient.
Tighten locking nut (2) .Adjustment of Valve 3
Note: Tooling (A) is not required for this portion of the adjustment procedure. You may remove Tooling (A) at this time. Attach the 198-4240 Digital Pressure Indicator at control port (Y) and at control port (Z) .

Set the 198-4240 Digital Pressure Indicator to read the pressure at control port (Y) .
Depress the forward pedal completely and hold the forward travel pedal down.Note: By short circuiting the pump, the functions of the travel pedals for this test have been reversed. The reverse travel pedal will control the forward direction and the forward speed of the machine.

Pressure override valve 3
Slowly turn in adjustment screw (6) until the pressure at port (Y) is approximately 72 3.4 kPa (10.5 .5 psi) higher than the regulation begin pressure at control port (Y). The regulation begin pressure was recorded when you performed the "regulation begin" adjustment procedure.Reference: Testing and Adjusting, "Piston Pump (Regulation Begin Adjustment) - Test and Adjust"Note: Do not tighten locknut (5) at this time.
Set the 198-4240 Digital Pressure Indicator to read the pressure at control port (Z) .
Depress the reverse travel pedal completely and hold the reverse travel pedal down.Note: By short circuiting the pump, the functions for the travel pedals for this test have been reversed. The forward travel pedal will control the reverse direction and the reverse speed of the machine.
Verify that the pressure setting that was achieved at Step 3 is unchanged when the pressure is measured at control port (Z) .Final Adjustment
