Problem
The seals in the boom cylinders on certain 235C and 245B Hydraulic Excavators may have unsatisfactory service life. The affected cylinders can be disassembled and all internal seals replaced. The head bolts and piston nuts have new torque specifications as listed in September 10, 1990 Service Magazine.

Remove and disassemble the 3G3524, 9J5379, 4T1921, 9T9360, and 9T9995 Boom Cylinder Groups on each of the Affected Product. Replace the parts listed for the appropriate cylinder groups. Tighten all head bolts and piston nuts to the specifications given in Service Magazine, September 10, 1990, Pages 6 and 7. Install reworked cylinders on the Affected Product.
