FLUID SPILLAGE CONTAINMENTCare must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "TOOLS AND SHOP PRODUCT GUIDE, NENG2500", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose of fluids according to local regulations and mandates. Drain all fluids in a suitable container for storage or disposal. 1. Mark and remove three wires assemblies (2) from shut-off solenoid (1). 2. Use tool (A) to remove shut-off solenoid (1).
When using an offset spanner wrench, the torque must be recalculated to prevent over torquing. Use The Torque Computer Form SEHS7150.
When installing the solenoid, tighten it to a torque of 70 10 N m (50 7 lb ft). For installation of the fuel shut-off solenoid, reverse the removal steps.
