Rework Procedure
Refer to KENR8915, Disassembly and Assembly, for the removal and installation procedure. Refer to NEHS0629, Tool Operating Manual, if necessary, to remove and install threaded gland cylinder heads.
REWORK PROCEDURE 1 (BEFORE FAILURE)
1. Verify the angle cylinder part numbers before proceeding. A cylinder with an identification etching/marking of "344-5133-04" or 448-1988 already has the higher torque applied to the piston and nut. No cylinder rework is necessary. The part identification is located near the lines port on the rod end.
2. Remove the 344-5133 Angle Cylinders from the machine and disassemble. If the cylinder has been in service, inspect the individual parts of the cylinder to determine reusability.
3. For each cylinder, remove the 8T-5065 Locknut. The locknut will not be reused. Tighten the 344-5134 Piston to 1300 Nm +/- 65 Nm. Install the new 8T-5065 Locknut and tighten to 900 Nm +/- 50 Nm. Lubricate the locknut threads and face prior to tightening.
4. Replace any seals and wear rings as needed and re-assemble the cylinder.
5. Once the rework is completed, mark the reworked cylinder bodies by etching or marking the part number identification with 344-5133-04. The part identification is located near the lines port on the rod end.
6. Inspect the condition of the cylinder rod eye 237-4860 Bearings and replace if needed.
7. Assemble the cylinders to the machine. Before connecting the angle circuit hoses to both cylinders, replace four 3K-0360 O-Ring Seals and four 6V-8398 O-Ring Seals. Grease all four cylinder bearings liberally.
8. If the machine is equipped with the new 457-3639 pitch link adjustment wrench from a previous repair, skip this step. Refer to Image 1.2.1 to aid in the identification of the equipment configuration.
Remove the 381-1883 Plate Assembly (pitch link adjustment wrench) from the pitch link. Position the 7X-7729 Washer and weld it to the wrench as shown in Illustration 1.2.1. Reassemble the wrench as shown in Illustration 1.2.2. The pitch of the blade may have to be adjusted rearward to pin the modified wrench to the pitch link. Grease the pitch link at all four fittings.

REWORK PROCEDURE 2 (AFTER FAILURE)
9. Remove the angle cylinders from the machine and disassemble. Inspect the cylinders for debris and/or damage to determine if the cylinder will be repaired or replaced. If any damage to the cylinder or rod is present, replace the cylinder and proceed to step 14.
If a cylinder is replaced, verify that the replacement has the higher torque piston and nut. A cylinder with an identification etching/marking of "344-5133-04" or 448-1988 has the higher torque piston and nut. If the cylinder does not have the higher torque piston and nut,
