Information:


At operating temperature, the implement hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic system before hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.
Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires and tubes for installation purposes. Cap and plug all lines, hoses and tubes to prevent fluid loss and contaminants from entering the system.1. Drain the hydraulic tank. The capacity of the hydraulic tank is 83 L (22 gal U.S.).

Install in reverse order.End By:a. install guard assembly (rear) Fill the hydraulic tank to the proper level. Start By:a. remove power take-off drive Fluid Spillage ContainmentCare must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools And Shop Products Guide," NENG2500 for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates. 2. Remove nut-lock (2), bearing cone (3) and spacer (4) from the power take-off drive assembly. 3. Remove yoke (5). 4. Remove lip-type seal (6) and bearing cone (7) from bearing cage assembly (8). 5. Using Tooling (B), install bearing cage assembly (8) in a vise and remove bearing cup (9).6. Repeat Step 5 for the opposite side. The following steps are for the assembly of the power take-off drive. 7. Lower the temperature of bearing cone (9) and install in bearing cage (8).8. Repeat Step 7 for the opposite side. 9. Install bearing cone (7) in the bearing cage assembly. 10. Install lip-type seal (6) in the bearing cage assembly with the lip facing the bearing cone. 11. Install the bearing cage assembly on yoke (5) as shown. 12. Install spacer (4), bearing cone (3) and nut-lock (2) in the power take-off assembly. 13. Install locknut (1) using Tooling (A). Tighten the locknut to a torque of 108 7 N*m (80 5 lb ft).
