The planetary gear group is being held onto the sprocket housing at this time only by Tooling (E ). The approximate weight of the planetary group is 163 kg (360 lb). Be careful not to allow the planetary gear group to slide forward.
Remove bolts (3) and ring gear (4) from cover assembly (2). Apply Tooling (F) onto cover assembly (2). Install the cover assembly (2 ) onto the final drive. Install bolts (1), and tighten in order to hold oil in the final drive. Fill final drive with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Final Drive - Oil Change".
Start the engine. Rotate the upper structure to an angle of 90 degrees to the undercarriage, in order to allow the undercarriage frame to be removed. Raise the boom and fully retract the stick cylinder.
Adjust the boom cylinder in order to position the end of the stick to the proper distance from the hard, level surface. The distance between the end of the stick and the hard, level surface should be equal to the distance between the bottom of the counterweight and the hard, level surface. This distance is approximately 1245 mm (49.0 inch). Stop the engine.

Adjust the height of Tooling (B) so that Tooling (B) can be installed under the end of the stick, as shown. Make sure that Tooling (B) is centered under the end of the stick.

Remove right hand boom cylinder (5). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Boom Cylinder - Remove and Install".

Adjust the length of Tooling (C) and install Tooling (C) in place of the right hand boom cylinder. Be sure to use five bolts, five washers, and five nuts in order to hold Tooling (C) together.

Remove cover (6) from the underside of the machine in order to allow Tooling (D) to rest flat on the underside of the frame.

Install Tooling (A ) under the main frame at the rear of the machine. Install Tooling (D) between Tooling (A) and the rear of the main frame.
Release system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Preasure - Release".
Drain oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

Remove the bolts and relocate cover (7) to one side.Note: Due to additional length of swivel attachment, the swivel needs to be removed in order to keep the lifting height of the body to a minimum.
Remove swivel assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swivel - Remove".

Note: Use the identifying marks on the upper structure, on the swing gear, and on the undercarriage to align the undercarriage with the upper structure.
Remove tube assembly (8). Remove two bolts (9) from swing gear. Install Tooling (E) into swing gear in order to maintain alignment for assembly. Remove remaining bolts (9). Use Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) to raise the upper structure off the undercarriage in increments of 13 mm (0.5 inch). Raise the upper structure until the
